Sueno (Dunes)

Turkey

The two golf courses at the 5-star 174-room sueno hotel, which are located between the carya and cornelia golf complexes on belek's coastline, were both designed by bob hunt of international golf architecture (formerly known as pga design consulting) and opened for business in late 2007.

The 18-hole pines and dunes configurations are laid out within a vast 400-acre site, and the sandy-soiled holes are threaded through a thick woodland, with umbrella pine trees flanking each and every fairway. It can get a little tight here, particularly on some of the tee boxes, so taking it easy will always pay off.

The pines course is the longer and more difficult of the two, reaching 6,413 meters from the back markers (slope index 148) and playing to a score of 72, compared to 5,643 meters and a par of 69 for the dunes (slope index 139). The dunes course isn't as long as its big brother, but it's no less important.

Indeed, club golfers will prefer the dunes course because it allows the average handicap golfer to post a respectable score without having to be long off the tee. With a little care and focus, a birdie âĢľ3âĢĿ might be achieved at the 270-meter 3rd and 296-meter 16th holes.
