Simola, designed by jack nicklaus and just the third golden bear signature course in south africa, opened in 2005 and sits majestically on a wooded landscape with the outeniqua mountain range in the distance, overlooking the knysna river.

The course is parkland in nature, with five par threes and five par fives, and it is sandwiched between two valleys separated by the simola ridge. The first seven holes have fantastic views of knysna heads and lagoon, while the remaining holes on the other side of the hill have better views of the water.
