Tpc myrtle beach's 18-hole tom fazio-designed layout is one of 38 tournament players club courses that operate at thirty private and public golf facilities throughout the united states, canada, mexico, and puerto rico.
The course first opened for regular fee play in 1999 and was thrown into the spotlight the following year when it hosted the pga tour champions' end-of-season senior tour championship (now known as the charles schwab cup championship).
The course was redesigned twenty years after it first opened, with bunkers renovated, cart paths refurbished, and encroaching trees cleared to allow for improved turf conditions on and around the putting surfaces.
The 158-yard 5th hole in the southeast corner of the course, where water protects the front and left of the green, and the 472-yard 9th hole, graded stroke index 1, which has water to the right of the landing zone, are two holes to keep an eye out for.
