The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort is an 18-hole, par-72 championship layout located in Kiawah Island, South Carolina. Designed by Pete Dye and opened in 1991, it plays to approximately 7,356 yards from the back tees. The course is famous for having more seaside holes than any other course in the Northern Hemisphere, with ten running directly along the Atlantic Ocean. Built to expose players to coastal winds, it is widely regarded as one of the most demanding modern championship tests.
The layout hosted the 1991 Ryder Cup and multiple PGA Championships, including 2012, 2021, and 2025. A bucket-list choice for golf holidays in South Carolina, it combines extreme difficulty with world-class coastal scenery.
