The monument course was the first of two 18-hole courses to open at troon north, and it was designed by tom weiskopf and jay morrish around the rough sonoran desert landscape in 1990, five years before its sister course (the pinnacle) opened.
The lush monument fairways wound their way through a sandy desert landscape, skirting arroyos, dry washes, and a mix of cacti and mesquite on their way to relatively wide, elevated greens, measuring just over 7,000 yards in total length from the tips.
