Innisbrook (Island)

USA

The world-renowned innisbrook resort and golf club, located in 900 acres of sandy palm harbor, florida, offers four golf courses. E.m. forster, a well-known american architect, Between 1969 and 1973, lawrence packard designed all four models. His most famous and probably greatest achievement is the copperhead course, but his island course – which has hosted several u.s. opens – is a near second. In the tables, open qualifiers and ncaa tournaments are not far away.

In his book golfing florida's best, rob armstrong wrote, "it's not easy growing up in the shadow of a successful younger brother." âĢľthere are often similarities, sometimes jealousies, and even rivalries. Let me weigh in if there is a competition between the island and the fabled copperhead. The island is home to a fantastic golf course. It's highly constrained. It's also demanding, stunning, unforgettable, and a superior game test. Even if it stood alone, aside from its younger brother, it would gain much more praise and respect. As it stands, i'm having trouble determining which track is superior. - one has a lot to share and they face a wide range of challenges and rewards.âĢĿ

âĢľthe scenery and topography on the island are stunning. The first half-dozen holes are relatively dry, with more water than noah had to contend with. The middle six holes are hilly and undulating, which is uncommon for a golf course in florida. The last six are made up of a combination of rolling hills, forests, and lakes. The scale of architect packard's greens varies. His bunkers – a total of 74 – are a testimony of his construction skills. He has a habit of leaving a lot of distance between his greenside bunkers and the putting line, so it's easy to break out of a pit and still be in the rough if you don't have a good sand game. The island rewards precision and finesse, while copperhead rewards brute power.
