Innisbrook (Island)

The world-renowned innisbrook resort and golf club, located in 900 acres of sandy palm harbor, florida, offers four golf courses. E.m. forster, a well-known american architect, Between 1969 and 1973, lawrence packard designed all four models. His most famous and probably greatest achievement is the copperhead course, but his island course – which has hosted several u.s. opens – is a near second. âĢľthe scenery and topography on the island are stunning. The first half-dozen holes are relatively dry, with more water than noah had to contend with. The middle six holes are hilly and undulating, which is uncommon for a golf course in florida. The last six are made up of a combination of rolling hills, forests, and lakes. The scale of architect packard's greens varies. His bunkers – a total of 74 – are a testimony of his construction skills. He has a habit of leaving a lot of distance between his greenside bunkers and the putting line, so it's easy to break out of a pit and still be in the rough if you don't have a good sand game.
