Opened in 2003 and designed by Álvaro Arana, the South Course at El Rompido is the original layout at this popular Costa de la Luz resort. This par-72 course is set within pine forest and marshland close to the Atlantic, with several holes enjoying views towards the Río Piedras estuary.

The terrain is relatively gentle and walkable, with generous fairways balanced by strategically placed bunkers and subtly contoured greens. Water features influence play on selected holes, adding variety without making the course overly severe.
