The Legend Golf Course, one of two 18-hole courses at the Belle Mare Plage Resort on Mauritius’ east coast, was designed by the great South African champion Hugh Baiocchi in 1994.

The course, which is significantly longer than its twin, the Links layout, is set within a densely wooded former hunting reserve, with water hazards challenging many of the holes. The fairways are generally wide and forgiving, despite being tree-lined, and they lead to meticulously maintained Tif Dwarf greens. The signature 17th hole, a par-3 over a scenic lagoon inlet, is a highlight that tests precision.
