PGA National Course, The Belfry

England

The Belfry (PGA National) is one of a quartet of championship courses at PGA National Resort & Spa. Opened in 2000, The Belfry measures 7,054 yards from the championship tees. This par 70 makes demands on all types of golfers and includes several elevated tee boxes that offer views to suit any golfer – from majestic to intimidating.

The dave Thomas-designed PGA national course was the first in Europe to bear PGA branding when it opened for play in 1997. It's a stern, difficult course designed in a distinctively American style. The PGA national was specifically planned with spectators in mind, with four recently built lakes and substantial mounding providing isolation between the fairways. Despite the fact that the course is built on the open countryside, it has some notable elevation shifts.
