Royal Golf Club du Hainaut

Belgium

Royal Golf Club du Hainaut was designed by Tom Simpson in 1933 as an 18 holes course. Martin Hawtree added another nine-holes in 1990 making Hainaut a very strong 27-hole golf complex.

The original 18 holes, comprised of the ‘Les Bruyeres’ and the ‘Le Quesnoy’ ranks alongside the best of the older courses in Belgium. The best way to navigate the course is to stay out of the trees and bunkers and use your two putts on the greens. The newer 9 holes “Les Etangs” is a good addition at Hainault and also meanders through a mature pine forest, so again accuracy is key if you wish to score well here.

Royal Hainaut is located near to Mons and is a private members club that allows access to visitors. The clubhouse is friendly and the brasserie menu is really good. On hot days, eat on the terrace overlooking the 18th hole, highly recommended.
