The first hole on the royal obidos golf course, near lisbon, is a tough right-hand dogleg that leads to a stunning series of holes overlooking the obidos lagoon. The 5th hole, a 520m par 5 with a final drive into a wide undulating green surrounded on three sides by water, is the highlight of the front nine.

The second nine holes of the royal obidos golf course are situated in the development's central and southern sections. Six of the holes wind their way through a complex network of lakes bound by cascading streams. The 12th, a 420m par 4, is the back nine's highlight, with the golfer negotiating both the drive and the second shot across and over two lakes and a curving canal.
