Golf club bologna was founded in 1958 and was the first golf club in the emilia-romagna region of northern italy. When ken cotton and john harris were working together, they designed the course, which was later updated by peter alliss in the late 1990s.
It's a classic parkland course, with enough elevation variations to make it exciting without being too exhausting. There's also a nice combination of open and tree-lined fairways, with just one water hazard on the par four eighth hole, where the tee shot would bear a small pool.
Another noteworthy hole is the tough par four 5th, which doglegs right off the tee and uphill to a two-tiered, semi-blind green defended by a pair of bunkers. Bologna's "amen corner" begins on the back nine with the par four 15th, which plays straight uphill to another well-defended green that slopes from left to right.
