Brocket Hall (Palmerston)

England

Brocket hall golf club is situated 20 miles north of the capital, next to leafy welwyn garden city in hertfordshire. The palmerston, which opened in 2000 and is named after two prime ministers who used to live at brocket hall, is the young kid on the block.

The palmerston, built by donald steel and weighing 7,080 yards from the championship tees, is a true test. The path winds its way through the undulating forest, passing through magnificent specimen trees such as hornbeam, beech, and pines, which provide a sense of warmth while still posing significant hazards. Steel's architecture concept was to provide a high-quality course with as little impact on the environment as possible. We believe he has achieved his goal with the palmerston course, which is obviously for the best since this is top-notch ground.

The palmerston course, unlike the older melbourne course, does not feature the river lea. Instead, there's brazen bunkering and, of course, tree pathways to deal with. Steel has developed a course for men and women who want to learn about their career. The central bunkers that separate the 3rd and 4th fairways tempt big hitters to drive left, over a narrow gap, and around the dogleg's corner. The short par five 9th hole is also enticing to strike in two rounds, but the greenside bunkers are strategically placed to catch all but the best hit approach shot.

On the par four 12th, the approach shot must traverse an odd chalk face about 100 yards from the tee. This is a lovely hole that necessitates pin-point precision off the tee.
