Casa de Campo (Dye Fore)

Dominican Republic

La romana is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the dominican republic, and casa de campo, established by charles bludhorn, is one of its main resorts, vying with bayahibe and dominicus for the the number of visitors who arrive each year.

The vast casa de campo development is spread out over nearly 7,000 acres to the east of la romana, and it first acquired attention in 1971, when pete dye's first-class teeth of the dog course was thrust upon an unaware golf community.

Three years back, his links layout debuted, but with the opening of the private la romana 18-hole course in 1990 and the dye fore course in 2002 – all built by the same in-demand architect – this very prestigious course has been totally overshadowed.

The chavón river carves a wide path through the terrain as it flows down from the dominican mountains to the sea, and the dye fore course stands high over the rushing waters, with six of the back nine holes running along the valley's top lip, providing stunning views down to the marina and the caribbean sea beyond.
