Montgomery Course (Kinross), Celtic Manor - Golf Course in Scotland

About Montgomery Course (Kinross), Celtic Manor

The Montgomery is the oldest of the three Celtic manors located within easy access from Kinross. This stunning parkland course boasts rolling fairways and sweeping greens. With some tricky dog-leg holes the course will test every golfing skill in your repertoire and test your nerves on a few occasions too.

The Montgomery's best par 3 is the 4th, which is just 139 yards uphill to a green that slopes slightly from front to back. Any shot that lands in the front right bunker would almost certainly result in a bogey, and chipping around this green is never easy.

The 16th hole is the most famous par four on the course. It's all about placement off the tee, and there's a long iron approach to a well-defended course. Making the green in two and walking away with a six is the standard.

The 11th hole is the montgomery's best par-5, with a pond that makes this 498-yard hole a perfect risk-reward challenge. It would be particularly enticing for those playing the yellow tees at 465 yards to reach the green in two under ideal wind and ground conditions. But beware: if the second shot isn't right, it'll most likely end up in the marsh.
