Amelkis (Blue & Red) - Golf Course in Morroco

About Amelkis (Blue & Red)

Amelkis golf club, named after a berber queen, first opened as an 18-hole course in 1995 and hosted the moroccan open five years later, with england's jamie spence winning by four strokes over sebastien delagrange, thomas levet, and ian poulter.

The initial 18-hole configuration consisted of the blue and red nines, which were replaced in 2009 by the much longer green nine. Top 100 has been told by architect cabell robinson that a fourth nine has been planned and will be built as soon as business conditions allow.

On the 9-hole blue loop, four difficult holes stretch from the 4th to the 7th, each reaching more than 400 yards from tee to green.

The red circuit's signature hole is the double doglegged par five 6th, which bends to the right before turning left across a wide 200-yard bunker that serves as a barrier between the fairway and a large lake surrounding the course.
